So there’s this boy, his mother is ill. He looks around for a doctor for her, but he can’t find anybody, they’re all booked. In his desperation he turns to an acupuncturist.
This old woman comes in, not a lick of medical knowledge, takes one look at his mother and states her disease comes from inflammation of the heart, and will be easily cured by her needle.
The son becomes alarmed, stops her, goes “surely a needle coming in contact withh her heart would kill her, you’re not going to do that?” She responds: “oh, don’t worry, not in the heart, I was only going to put it here, by the ribs”. The boy protests, “but that’s too far from her heart, how will that ever fix anything?” She laughs and says “of course it will, a mother’s heart always inclines to one side”
