I think it’s common for people to do something more complicated than root for their home team, not common for people to just root for whichever team they think is best

like, my dad was a sports fan, and he was from Massachusetts, so he brought me and my sister up to root for the Red Sox and the Patriots, even though we were growing up in Minnesota, that’s the sort of thing that ~no one would see as not-checking-out

well he definitely saved you from rooting for the twins and vikings

and did just happen to have you rooting for two teams that could be considered the best during the time you were growing up

this would have been far scarier as a bluff if the actual outcast wasnt a Wretch and thus self confirmed

She also plays a guildsman who woo’ed a waitress at the tavern. (Wait. Is that the newbie?)

Hm. DM work, Theo storyline, Dorothy side story, “Bully” side story. Dang. That’s a lot of work.

I don’t think it’s sacriligeous to not root for a hometown team. I root for Pittsburgh football (mom from there), Oklahoma City basketball (dad from there), Seattle baseball (closest to where I live currently), and idgaf about hockey or soccer really.

I think it would be sacriligeous if I decided I was a kansas city chiefs fan. Or, like, idk, if in 2016 I decided I was a warriors fan after they went 73-9 because my dad lived in oakland for a bit.

hell it’s not even the worst thing to choose a team to be your favorite in a sport you haven’t watched before because they have the best players or whatever. But, if when that team eventually reverted to the mean, you jumped ship to the new best or brightest team, by sports fan standards, you fucken suck

I think a lot of new pacers fans were minted this year. I have to admit I enjoyed watching their games as much as my own team’s, some of the most fun basketball i’ve watched in a while

The idea of being a fan of a particular sports team is kind of silly to me though i have not watched much sports

I just got a bit lost while trying to figure out what it is. At least it’s not a weird word.
