Yes. One more victim before we can recreate Rokugan FM and end the game on Day 1.
FYI, this is one of its wincons:
Half of the game (rounded up) has claimed at least one of the following: Ability, Family, Clan, Flavor, Path.
It doesn’t say to what degree the claim has to be. If you are some BS-level Doctor, then -assuming RAW- you’re screwed the moment you claim to be Protective. Also, since non-Rokugan roles doesn’t have the extra traits (e.g., Family, Clan, Flavor, Path), that just means that anyone who claims to not have any of aforementioned traits in public would contribute towards D1 Game Over as well.
Simply don’t trigger it.
Very simple, very easy.
The only way to “safely” play this game is by not mentioning abilities in the slightest. I know I have been saying how I love the motto “Abandon mech; Return to mountainous,” but this ain’t it.
My games don’t force their players to not claim anything; They all simply give the players the option to play mountainous while enticing said players to not play mountainous.
This game on the other hand does actively punish any non-Mafia for claiming anything. If we look at that wincon with RAW, then the claim doesn’t even have to be legit! Doctor could claim to have the ability of a Vigilante, and they would still count! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
A: I think B is evil.
B: Why would you think that?
A: I just think so.
B: That doesn’t make sense. You townread me literally an hour ago.
A: I have backread, and I no longer townread you.
B: Okay… Is there any particular reason why you no longer townread me?
A: I can’t say.
B: What do you mean “you can’t say”?
A:
Now tell me: What is A? Some paranoid Townie with mid-day instant cop-check, or some Mafia who lolcats for literally no reason whatsoever?
Just kill the Lying Darkness
Screw nostalgia.
I have talked myself out from touching anything related to The Lying Darkness.
/out
Killing that abomination does nothing.
Because the final sentence of the wincon (and thereby the entire rolecard) is:
You can win even if you are dead.
Just kill the lying darkness
The entire gimmick of the cancelled Piercing Light FM was to let players play a game with a dead Lying Darkness. Because it can still win, even if it is not even controlled by any player!
…you’re right. I can’t run forever.
I need to design a role that breaks other broken roles. Killing The Lying Darkness is not enough. I need to break its concept entirely!
