for what its worth the emotional effects of estrogen are very much present but largely depend on
… well, i don’t want to say Being Transgender In That Direction because non-binary people
but people who are cis have decidedly reported Negative changes when going on estrogen, emotions-wise
essentially equivalent to Giving Them Dysphoria except you dont have time to get used to it like you do as a child who is just there
(the opposite usually happens for trans people who decide to go on it as well; and if you don’t like the changes it’s probably not for you. fortunately you can just stop using them when you notice that you feel like shit, and there might be Some permanent things if you went on too long, but iirc the “feeling like shit” actually usually predates the actual physical changes? idr for sure. as it happens most trans people do not regret doing this thing they did on purpose each day for several months)

this is, of course, not to be confused with Volatility, which happens because you are pretty much literally having a 2nd puberty
