Actually, an option doesn’t need to be in the money to sell it for a profit.
Case in point: back in November, I bought a bunch of put options that would only make money if Microsoft’s stock price fell 20% in the next two weeks. As you can imagine, extremely unlikely for that to happen, so it was a cent per option.
But a couple days later, the market got cold feet about the AI bubble, so volatility skyrocketed. It was still unlikely for Microsoft to fall 20%, but it was now far more likely that it could happen. As such, the price of my options went up to 5/6 cents per option, and I was able to sell them for a profit.

Realistically I would be on that list but I’ve won my only scumgame on here (beatings 1) by just running out of wim due to my sheet being behind after being tired and lazy for a few days

- who know each-other vaguely well
