If I can’t get this resolved I might. The syllabus, which is the vaguest ever, does say that individual projects can be revised for full credit. But what he has said in class doesnt track with that, and he has mentioned a bunch of other idiotic policies (like how he will “bump up a grade” at the end of the semester if he feels the student deserves it. Which is a BAD policy, he grades harsher because he knows he can “bump it up” and its unfair to the students who are aiming really hard for a top grade who don’t get to control their own destiny). Of course thats not on the syllabus because if it was he might get yelled at but either way yeah if he doesn’t give me some way of getting the points back i’m escalating it.

The instrumentation is much much better now. Structures which took weeks in the 90s take seconds to get now. It is the “back in my day we walked uphill both ways to grind the microscopic crystal into a sphere” class
