All the autism spectrum questions here were very, like, interpersonal-themed and not at all about the things that I experience as autism

Grits is my favorite breakfast but

The fact that it makes it so I don’t even start to get lunch hungry until 3 in the afternoon is cringe

Three is way too late to be lunch hungry

My brain, at the motor issues:

Is it autistic to sometimes just not have your fingers do what you want them to do when doing tasks?

IDK I look at the diagnostic criteria and I think even the diagnostic criteria are really overly social-focused? Which I think is stupid, at least FMPOV

Social stuff is less intuitive to me but it’s not difficult to learn. It’s not ā€œexhausting evil maskingā€ like some people portray it as, it’s fine.

But there’s a bunch of closer-to-physical stuff that still shows up when I’m home alone in my room, that are well-attested as symptoms of autism, and those are the things that feel at all meaningful to me?

(Real thing I experience. My fingers are not cooperative a lot of the time, makes gaming harder and part of why I prefer turn based games. Also scrubbing with a sponge will sometimes just have a ā€œI adjusted my finger wrong and it feels weird for a moment before going back to normalā€)

But lots of things can cause fingers don’t do things as I’d like them to

So I guess this is an issue with the diagnostic criteria rather than the quiz.

It’s quite easy to learn social stuff as rules and experiences. It’ll result in delayed social development, but not zero, I know what is and isn’t rude, sometimes I’ll notice a new thing that’s rude and then train myself not to do that anymore. I guess those are the most noticeable things to others. But like. The frequently-attested cluster of sensory issues and trouble with processing and moving and stuff seems so much more. Important?

Can’t/hard to train yourself out of not being able to handle loud noises / select noises or bad textures or being easily overwhelmed

Textures is food?

Food is probably the most well known but

Textures is textures
That’s just anything to do with one’s sense of touch

For example, there are a few fabric types that I just. Hate. Cannot stand at all.

Fleece is the main one that comes to mind iirc

Also. Markers on paper. That is the devil.

i think a major facet of Autism is just a processing diff. that goes for social processing as well as senses
