i like in a movie or show when they are building up to or in the middle of a tense, climactic moment, and then boom, random car crash. I wonder if theres a tvtropes article about this
I really hate lawns
me too
im allergic to Lawn Grass and like no other plant, even if i wasnt its dumb and ugly to replace all the natural surrounding plants with boring uniform grass.
Lawns waste space. U could grow food in that space. The original purpose of lawns was for european aristocrats to show off how rich they are that they can afford to waste space. Then that was imported to america and middle class people started imitating the rich. Its a middle class feature now but its still wasteful of soil and space
i feel like this is a great layup for a 8000 word nbowie post talking about the entire colonialist history of lawns and how socialism must start with planting local shrubbery
i feel like my life should be the name of a video game difficulty setting
dont get me starteddddd
terrible for stormeater too, grass roots are like maybe 6 inches while native plants (in illinois at least) can havr roots that are multiple feet lon. It promotes biodiversity, good health for the people with the plants, shelter for animals and all that.
But not a flat patch of grass is what we opted for. Lol.
NEW RHYTHM HEAVEN GAME JULY 2ND WE ARE SO BACK
Soweli discreetly let out a yawn, covering her mouth with her hand, and glanced at the clock. Only a few more minutes until the end of class. Unfortunately, the professor, who had been droning on about differential equations for the past hour, seemed annoyingly oblivious to that fact. Mentally scowling, Soweli returned her gaze to her desk, where the pieces of the pen that she had been idly disassembling and reassembling for the past ten minutes laid.
Just then, her phone vibrated. Quickly glancing around to anyone had noticed, Soweli checked her phone underneath the desk.
Thatâs odd, Soweli thought to herself. Her phone vibrated again, and the icon expanded to take up most of the screen. Soweli tapped once, then a few more times, but her phone didnât respond.
âWhen you take the innnnteeeeeegralllllllllllllllllllllâŚâ Suddenly, everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. Soweli looked up in alarm, and watched as the professorâs writing on the chalkboard slowed to a crawl and stopped. Looking around, Soweli saw that everyone was frozen in place, as if theyâd been replaced by statues of themselves. An eerie silence pervaded the room.
Just as Soweli opened her mouth to speak, an image flashed across her mind. It was that of a pixelated blond figure, holding a black and white cat, shaded with rainbow colors. Before she could begin to make sense of the image, it disappeared, to be replaced by another. A yin-yang symbol, but colored orange and black. The image was replaced by another, this time of a round green figure on four legs wearing a blue cap. Overwhelmed, Soweli closed her eyes as more images materialized, appearing for only a split second and disappearing, too quick for her to figure out what they were.
âŚ
The hubbub of the students in the room reached Soweliâs ears and she opened her eyes. Evidently the professor had just dismissed class, as all around her, students were putting their things into their bags and heading for the door. Soweli checked her phone, but the strange purple icon was gone. Must have dozed off and had a bad dream, Soweli thought to herself as she began to put her things in her backpack.

That night, Soweli could not fall asleep. Tossing and turning, her thoughts were occupied by what had happened earlier in class. How did that purple icon end up on my phone? she thought to herself. And what were those images that appeared in my mind? Soweli had the distinctly strange feeling that the images somehow corresponded to people in some way, but she couldnât think of any reasons as to why this might be the case.
Just then, Soweliâs phone vibrated. Opening it up, Soweliâs annoyance at not being able to sleep only increased tenfold when she saw the screen.
Why is it on my phone again? Soweli thought as she deleted the app. Scowling, Soweli tossed her phone aside and closed her eyes, doing her best to mentally conjure up images of cute fluffy sheep. Eventually, exhaustion set in and Soweli drifted off into an uneasy sleep.
