regulation is a part of it but I would argue it’s regulation in “How do you start a new (crypto coin/stock)” and not “is it illegal to pump and dump (crypto coin/stock)”
If you try and pump and dump a random stock, it still has to be, like, an actual established company that got listed. Whereas I could launch MarissaToken by 7:30 pacific today if I really wanted to. And the random company will have a lot less liquidity than MarissaToken
