the only time I changed an enemy mid battle was giving the evil and intimidating mushroom a fire weakness because otherwise it was going to completely anticlimactically TPK you :sob:

the fact those guys had like 10 slashing weakness yet that mushroom wasn’t weak to fire, acid, slashing or literally anything that would make sense is crazy

it was weak to slashing it just permanently mind controlled the only slash user

we had willow who was rendered a noncombatant, me who had two 1st level spells and locke who is a noncombatant and carroty who is pretty much a noncombatant

why is our party made of noncombatants that keep getting themselves in combat and killing themselves

well no you were losing because the evil and intimidating mushroom was a level 4 enemy and you guys were level 2

Isn’t it like a lvl 11 enemy downscaled for a boss encounter

no it’s just a level 4 enemy

there are instances of enemies being downscaled (the drunk guy is level 3 but has so much Sickened that he balances out as level 1) but not the mushroom

Purple Pox (disease) Myceloids are immune; Saving Throw DC 20 Fortitude; Onset 1 minute; Stage 1 2d6 poison damage and stupefied 1 (1 day); Stage 2 6d6 poison damage, stupefied 3, and the creature is compelled to seek out the nearest myceloid colony—this compulsion is a mental emotion effect (1 day); Stage 3 The creature dies. Over 24 hours, its corpse becomes bloated and bursts, releasing a new, fully grown myceloid.

Does this mean that you get resurrected but your race changes to a myceloid?
