i have a sleeping disorder and i always slept in like half my classes literally until 11th grade (i could get away with it until then) and no one realized that i had restless legs syndrome for a while
this is mostly due to the sheer incomptetence of my parents and their doctors but it’s not unlikely

Id personally rework their system a bit so throwing isnt optimal. If you lose your first game in a set its optimal to throw them all to reset your hearts. Even more so if you lose multiple. You dont need to tryhard and you can still win later, as a challenge, some players just like optimizing the fuck out of things and its just not very fun when the optimal way to save time sometimes is to throw games
Perhaps … If you lose your first game - you dont lose a heart? You just keep going at max hearts until you win a game. Then you have an investment - something to lose if you lose
And alternatively another mode where every loss matters and you still keep going. Not incentivize to reset. Potentially
