Look, when I say my neighbour is screaming, I am being very literal. Top-of-the-lungs yell. At a video game. I move out on Saturday so it’s not fucking worth creating conflict when we are acquaintances outside of being neighbours. But I’ll complain here.

Alright, class, when something seems confusing to us, we don’t actually have to immediately object! What we can actually do is we can stop and think for a moment.

Let’s take a look at the situation here. This user on Fortress of Lies is known to be attending university this summer and it’s August, so we know from our familiarity with school schedules that the summer semester probably hasn’t ended yet. They have also just mentioned that their lease started recently. Now, confusingly, this user has said they “move out on Saturday”. Isn’t that weird? Their lease just started! But wait, hold on a moment. We can use our brains to make connections and get to the bottom of what’s actually happening.

The creator of this post has clearly been living somewhere during this summer, right? And a lease starting does not necessarily mean that the tenant immediately loses access to all other possible residencies. Students frequently live in dorm rooms, and a dorm room will necessarily be available to its user until the end of the semester during which it is being used. So a student who is moving from a dorm to an apartment mid-semester could easily stay in their dorm room for a few days before moving in to their new apartment, and might do so, for example, if they are waiting for the assistance of a “motor vehicle”, such as a car, that could assist their journey, as it is difficult to carry large amounts of clothing, kitchen supplies, and the like by hand alone.

So, here’s a theory: the creator of this post moves out of their dorm room into their new apartment, the one which lease they mentioned just started, on Saturday. Wouldn’t that make more sense? Of course, we don’t have confirmation of this theory, but it seems plausible enough to not require clarification, right?
