No alternative winning conditions?
some characters can make the good or evil team win off of their abilities, but they play into the standard gameplay. They’re also not terribly common
also notably they themselves are still good or evil
I do earnestly recommend the game (I just got done playing a game lmfao), but I’d recommend taking a look at Trouble Brewing if you wanna try

With a lot of roles that can swing the balance, I might feel threatened
honestly trouble brewing isn’t very swingy
I’m aware other characters can get swingy but the thing with clocktower is you only ever have to deal with what’s on script
idk if i reccomend botc
its a good game but i find a lot of online discourse + the playerbase annoying, moreso than mafia
i think with friends it can be fun
the answer is to avoid botcu 
i mean i played for around a year on the app + in various botc communities, including private ones
i find the comparions to mafia to be baffling. mafia is much more about social solving, botc is much more about building worlds. in an online setting maybe, but you wont ever be reading into someone elses read opn a player thats predicated on omgus or whatever
maybe it just doesnt appeal to me lol
i mean objectively it’s a variant of a rolemadness mafia game
I think the de-emphasis on social reads is somewhat a playerbase issue though I won’t ~deny a greater emphasis on worldbuilding
The few times ive played botc here on fol i didnt see people making social reads which was confusing to me. Well i did see some, but i got the feeling as if ppl were deliberately holding back on making reads
the thing with botc on fol is that people love playing whisper shadow council
and this is dumb and stupid

botc is also balanced around shortform and longform botc suffers from not really having player elimination lol
