To add onto this: vitamin D in food is essentially ignorable. Its really miniscule. You could in theory reach an equilibirum just from food but it would require you to eat fish every single day, or 10 eggs every day. It just covers your expense, your body expends IU. It will be rly hard to reach a surplus
If you are vitamin D deficient you need to start earning a surplus. Your realistic options are either supplements or exposing your skin to the sun
If you wear clothes you receive only 5% of the vitamin D you would if you were naked (since ur only getting it thru ur face and hands)
The current supplements im taking gives me a dose if 3000 IU per day - equivalent of 75 eggs per day, or half a kilogram of fish every day
Also vitamin D is unlike other vitamins, it’s actually a hormone that’s generated inside the skin (or under it, i forgot)
