DONT TAKE BUS DRIVER
21 grams serving size is such an odd number to me, everything here has a rounded serving size and also a mandatory 100g serving size and it feels easier to compare. for this peanut butter it tells a 100g and a 30g serving size. i think that its because the 21g one uses table spoons as a measure but if im calculating my macros i will use math, i wont use spoonfuls, like am i a toddler to think in spoonfuls? anyway ill just do some math. the one that im eating is a german brand called Maribel
jiff / maribel
5.71 kcal per g / 6.58 kcal per g
0.48 g fat per g / 0.55 g fat per g
0.24 g carbs per g / 0.1 g carbs per g
0.19 g proteins per g / 0.28 g proteins per g
so it seems comparable. i dont really understand how to read nutrition tables. jiff has a lot more carbs, more than double. im guessing more sugar? im not sure how to read the sugar label on jiff. whats this âincludes 1g added sugarsâ under âtotal sugarsâ. thats so weird
if they had used more oil to make it more creamy, i would have expected a higher fat content. but it has less fat. so im really not sure how to understand this
actually, a potential explanation is that this peanut butter maribel is actually creamy. it says in the label that its creamy. and it says it uses palm oil. so it just feels to dry to me personally but technically its creamy and comparable to jiff probably. maybe jiff is the same? and i just find the whole thing dry, not sure
no wait its says 1.2% peanut oil. it doesnt say how much % palm oil
i cannot read your post this pop up youtube video window is so good to my brain
i also still havent found an answer or explanation by anyone about why palm oil is unhealthy
@Atlas do you remember that time we had olive oil shots? good times. and then you cried like a little bitch. not me. i took it like a man. id do it again. olive oil is delicious. yummy yummy in my tummy
when italians cook soup they start pouring from the olive oil bottle and they dont measure. they just use feeling
Hbd todaysstory
Why the fuck did you two do that again
(Rhetorical)
i thought it wouldnât be that bad cause i remembered doing it before and it wasnt that bad!!
so uh
thatâs not how serving sizes work
your nutrition labels are per 100 grams (which, yes, as you noted, sure does make comparing things easier!) but you canât just make everything a serving size of 100 grams
in general vegetable oils offer little nutritional benefit and are often full of lots of calories, simple sugars, fatty acids, oh and they can become toxic if cooked incorrectly
thereâs like a bajillion different types of oils and each is different so itâs not as simple as âvegetable oil badâ but fundamentally foods with them added often take on a lot more risk of being unhealthy with little benefit from a health standpoint
current hearthstone was such a good idea
draw infestor and win itâs that easy
I just realized that adrenaline and epinephrine have the exact same literal meaning (substance from âonâ the âkidneyâ) but the first is latin origin (ad+renal+ine) and the second is greek (epi+nephros+ine)
HOW DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG TO NOTICE WTF
yes ive known theyâre the same hormone, but dude they also have the same prefix and root meanings wtf
My mind is blown
