vtm bloodlines 2 is out

Thorne joining expedition. [Went back to tavern, met up with Eliza.] Brought horse (named Jorse) out of stable. Adjudicator was searching for Haldvar. Saying goodbyes to Benny (who stayed), friendship increased. [Eliza appeared, letter from mother, Dane’s morale boost speech.] Witnessed Haldvar with a musket, gained advise from adjudicator on how to fight with short sword. Quickly changed to leather boots to be able to kick monsters more effectively.

[Journey to poppy field, management hell, crossing poppy field, noticed Shades ft. Nathaniel, relocate.] Got asked by Haldvar to check crates for loot, found nothing usable. (Expired food.) [Scavenging houses, many Shades.] ((Ah, Sir Tom joined the party when this group was scavenging the second building.)) [Tech issue (program crash) whilst exploring third building.]

Stream returned after the scavenger group has returned. [Hide and Seek.] (…for thirty damn minutes. There were at least five instances where the Red Candles checked up on the building they were in.) ((Though noticeably, Eliza’s inner monologue was far more lengthy than Elliot’s.)) (Cute pose too. Big sister Eliza wrapping her arms around Elliot. The pose reminds me of… “Ivan the Terrible and His Son”.)

[Lucien guided back to group, mentioned runes at mine entrance, Elliot jotted down. Overheard Dane’s crashout. Eliza wanted to summon Aedis, not possible. Met Silas, gave cane. Digging mine entrance, Eliza acting crazy.] (Because nobody else see the blue flame.) ((…I might have not seen Oliver and Elliot also dig the entrance from Eliza’s POV.))

List of POVs and Episodes

…well that was quick indeed. I guess there really isn’t much to log when the majority of the events were shared. Well then, time to check up on Silas’ POV. That ought to give me the least amount of new content from what I see.

IDEK what that is.

wym there is no bloodlines2

Crutchening

Start at church, monologuing, chatted with Sir Tom about expedition, got asked about the names from a couple sessions ago (IIRC Whitelock). They either changed names or were no longer present. Tom curious why Silas interested in south, half-lied about satisfying curiosity.

Got informed by Declan being chained and dragged into barracks by Edward. ((Missed the lashings.)) Witnessed: [Solomon crash out at Thorne.] Small chat with Lucien. Haldvar wanted to see the Quartermaster. Received more context from Leopold, got informed about Thorne’s punishment. (I.e., five days dock in payment.) Leopold hinted desires of actual insubordination. ((…man, it really sucks that he of all people had to die this session.))

((I just noticed… from other POVs, I have seen that the adjudicator has interviewed the people Thorne claimed to be the witnesses to his “injustice”. Even if he and Thorne are close friends, there is no way he would’ve sent Thorne to the capital without punishing Thorne. Thirty lashings because someone lower in rank talked back… That’s in no way justified.))

Chat with Edward and Logan in tavern, about food supply, expedition, action enacted upon Declan. Edward was uncertain about joining the expedition at this point in time. ((He didn’t join in the end.)) Went outside, briefly chatted with Dr. Robin, Benny, Eliza. Got told by Dane to prepare. Asked Dominguez and Casimir Tarbek to help move supplies. Dr. Robin’s supplies was also on Silas’s wagon.

Did not touch Ashvales’ horse, asked guildsmen to get them instead so they could handle their horse themselves. Chat with Oliver. Second wagon is Silas’. ((If third wagon are doctors’, then whose are first wagon?)) Chat with Dr. Robin about fort security. (Human resource management is difficult…)

Advised Dane to give speech. Silas struggling with either Whisper or inner demons. Casimir (courier) had four letters for Thorne, one letter for Silas. ((New challenge: Differentiating Ulysses Tarbek from Casimir.)) Letter from Silas didn’t reach Murell (councilman?) and instead got intercepted by Elaine Durrett, who replied to Silas, who didn’t believe in Silas’ claims.

Overheard Casimir giving letter to Vaan. [Dane’s speech.] Small chat with Dr. Robin, Eliza, and Nathaniel. Witnessed Daniel getting a musket and performing negligent discharge no longer than 10 minutes after receiving said firearm.

(Small technical collision issues.) Jouney to poppy field, small talks. Too late to regret, Haldvar using musket for fun instead of for real combat. [Poppy field crossing, Tetch dead.] ((Actor enjoyed being non-combatant, and predicted correctly about Tetch’s death because of the amount of injuries he had sustained.))

[Relocate.] Tried to deal with Dr. Robin, but Solomon’s word takes priority. Med supplies already halved. Vinitrine called by Bracken for scavenging, but she wanted to stay with the doctors, and Silas happened to be willing to tag along with them. Group: Silas, Dorothy, Gwen, Bracken, Evie, Rue, Cassandre.

…ah. I remember this group. This was the group that entered the house with “sleeping” dreadwalkers. (…oh yeah. I guess this was how Silas got injured. I had forgotten all about it!)

i mean sure but if you’re retiring soon enough to care you should not have a large portion of your retirement account in an index fund and if you aren’t then your retirement account tanking in value (I am fully expecting mine to at some point in the next five years) doesn’t actually make a meaningful difference to your life

fundamentally unless i was a time traveler there is no reason to believe that my long-term gains aren’t still safest if I just keep DCAing

if I don’t know when exactly the bubble will pop then historically and statistically I am far more likely to lose more money by trying to plan for and invest around a crash than if I just hold the course and keep investing into the exact same index fund every other week regardless of what its current value is

like it might suck if my retirement account drops 50% over the course of a week at some point but that doesn’t really materially hurt me since I can’t access those funds for nearly twice as long as I’ve been alive anyways

and if I try to get out of that crash by moving my money elsewhere I’m not only liable but in fact extremely likely to end up worse off once all is said and done

so like yeah its a bubble and yeah its prolly gonna pop but in terms of what I can do about it as an individual the answer seems pretty clearly to be “nothing, and trying to do anything is only likely to work against me in the long term”

It may not hurt you, but that wasn’t my point either. I haven’t touched my account either. Some people are not in a position to allow their fund to sit for decades.

right, and those people should not be 100% in index funds

regardless I’m not attempting to refute your point in any way
