Lesson in mashes is to hero shoot town read players.
Why not just make an Atheist game? Thereâs no need to worry about those pesky evils, oh wait thatâs the host/s.
simply succeed the saving throw
casters being better at the actually important saving throws in most systems baffles me
consequence of a mental stat being tied to a saving throw (Iâm pretty sure that in pathfinder specifically the only ones with a real advantage here are wisdom casters which makes more sense)
will in 3.5/pf1 is universally a âgoodâ progression saving throw for casters
I am aware of this
they are aware of this
the actual answer is just they designed âwho is good at what saving throwâ with flavor in mind and donât care to change it
me when i design mechanics based on flavor and suddenly thereâs problems
i will fix it by adding a fortitude saving throw at 2nd rank that instantly paralyzes you if you fail it
thatll show them casters
I like playing the game
You get this session once a week and combat, while it can be engaging, can be a non-starter sometimes due to hard CC / being the RNG gods sacrifice
I can see why people prefer minimal combat tables in 5e because holy shit thatâs frustrating
i mean minimal combat tables are just based regardless
was talking about this in spec chat for anni today
they are!
my college table is just this and itâs great
speaking of that weâre truman showâing one of the players next session
I mean yeah but even in minimal combat, if you do get deleted from the fight how do you rp something like getting instantly paralyzed meaningfully
âspecific character focused sessionsâ have a relatively mixed view in the greater ttrpg community but I think they are a good time if people are good at rp
you donât
I get why people rp in combat but I donât do it personally
half the reason I optimize is so I can mechanically justify my characterâs narrative of being good at combat
in combat? maybe Iâll drop a line or two but thatâs it
