what have u been up to my lad
how are you, min
happy birthday
Omg min!! It’s been so long
I was reminded of you earlier bc I was reading on the role you randed in Singers FM, I am SO sorry but at the same time it was fucking hilarious
And happy birthday!!
Thank youuu atlas
Imm alright. This bday is gonna be a chill and have a cold one sort of day
I’ve been dead but I missed u vro and singers fm was an experience lololol
What were you thinking as soon as you received the feedback for Unleashing your ARTPOP?
It’s the fact the entire town ignored you as well as you were flailing and sounding the alarm at a bastard ability fucking the entire execution over
Except specifically catbae who silently accepted what was about to happen
Happi bday
Because he would miss if the survivor greeds and that’d set him back
But also if he swings very early you can just react to the sound cue and drop the pallet. That’s how he got me when I was marked. He was super close already and then swung and even though I reacted the ping delay fucked me because of peekers’ advantage but DBD edition
Can i have context
Everything was just a fat wtf in my head
my pfp is lowk how i feel every day
Data flow isn’t instantaneous between clients and the servers. It’s not real life where the speed of light (and even sound) makes information updates negligible, or neurons firing or whatever.
The delay is quantifiable as “ping”
So whoever moves first has an advantage, because they know of their own actions ahead of time. So gaming favours whoever is pro-active. For example, if you swing a corner, your client has to then communicate that to the server and then the server to the other clients - but you already knew you were swinging the corner and you can actually see people before they see you because of this delay

So if he was to swing at me with his knife as far back as possible, an action that would take… idk, let’s say a random number. 2 seconds to complete, then let’s also take a random delay - idk, 40 milliseconds for me to react.
I would know in 40 milliseconds that I have 2 seconds to react.
But if he gets super close to me and THEN swings at me with his knife, the window of reaction is way shorter, and the ping delay disproportionately affects my ability to react because it eats up a larger percent of the window of reaction whereas 40ms to 2s is negligible
Does that make sense?
yes, actually. thank you
