ok so yume nikki is a 2004 game(?) where you explore the dream world. theres not really a strict plot or gameplay outside of just wandering around, going from the nexus (a place that contains doors to various different worlds) deeper into these strange and surreal worlds, slowly discovering how they connect and finding “effects” which give you special abilities that let you explore further, give some quality of life or do nothing at all.
yume nikki online is a fan project that brings yume nikki and its fangames (also the original free version of oneshot for some reason) to a web interface with chat and a shared world, letting you explore the world with your friends.
Ultraviolet is one of those fangames, which we play because her name is violet.
