Sorry for misgendering you I don’t know the exact formula

let’s dig into that

why

because fundamentally a hatchback is just a sedan but where the back seats aren’t entirely separate from the trunk space

and once you’ve driven both it is really hard to justify taking an aerodynamics hit to have a less convenient trunk space that can carry less

I can’t see any good reason that if you like one you would categorically not like the other since they’re basically the exact same form factor of car

if you really want to have the trunk be a truly separate compartment for some reason then sure get a sedan

but i struggle to think of how most people would benefit from that

like

these are basically indistinguishable from sedans but both are hatchbacks

sure some modern sedans have better aero shaping than older sedans did, but at the point where they’re emulating the shape of an aerodynamic hatchback I can only question why you’d bother cutting off your trunk space with an arbitrary wall

and if that wall doesn’t mean anything to you I would highly encourage you to not discount the category entirely

“An update is required for this app to function!” Really? Because I just order off the app anyway and you seem to function JUST fine

okay I’ll consider it

one of these seems way nicer to actually put stuff in to me

especially when you consider what they’re like with the seats down!

im aware that some hatchbacks can be very boxy and tall

but not all of them are and I would strongly encourage you to consider the car’s profile on a per-model basis rather than writing off the entire category just because some of them are not to your liking :stuck_out_tongue:

are you sure you’re not a car guy

that being said not buying a very expensive vehicle because you don’t like how it looks is definitely valid as hell

I had a great opportunity to get a used Kia Soul at a fantastic price that would definitely have been better value than buying my car new

but I passed on it because I would really really really rather not drive a Kia Soul :joy_cat:

but like imo its not a great idea to write off an entire category of cars because you don’t like how just one example looks

like i feel you and I have literally negative desire to ever own a giant SUV and some hatchbacks really do start to trend in that direction

but i fucking love my own hatchback model and am way happier with it than I would have ever been with a sedan

it has been a literal lifesaver when moving across the country and even things like grocery runs (which I do every week!) are made way easier by having better trunk access

just wouldn’t want u to miss out on that because some specific boxy cars needlessly gave the category as a whole a bad rap

100%

I literally moved out of a place I love to live with a climate I love and my family and everything I could ever realistically want to do to go to fucking Arizona just to not have to work in the auto industry

working in auto = / = being a car guy

cars can be a hobby dummy

trust me when I say I am not a car guy

I can speak in detail about things I have researched in my own journey to make the single most expensive purchase of my entire life and the only thing other than tuition I have ever needed to take out a large loan for pretty well, but if I couldn’t that would be a sign of me being financially irresponsible rather than the fact I can speak to those things making me a car guy

yeah mine is definitely not a hobby
