I don’t super love proxies, but understand that Magic is a luxury hobby that can easily price a lot of folks out. It just kind of bugs me in that typical intersects with decks that tend to be on the optimized side of things. I play haughty anime girl laughing Smothering Tithe in a single deck only because I think the art is awesome
I got it when it was ~$60 IIRC because, again, I really love it. It’s so funny to me. That’s already extremely expensive for a single card, but now the price is ~$150. It’s now the third most expensive card I own. It would annoy me if someone proxied this card because it’s such an obnoxious card, and yet it’s also a card that’s like prime proxying material (great art, anime girls, very expensive, very powerful). It’s only special and worth playing to me because I happen to own it. I wouldn’t play it otherwise. So, someone proxying it is just like making the table have a bad time without having the decency to shell out for it and make it somewhat understandable. This is a bizarre argument, but it’s how I feel idk lol
