for example, stoicism is just used as emotional repression in the majority of cases, but that modified version is considered an ideal for men, and it is usually men, to push towards when they’re older

granted people just tend to forget about these things but they do romanticise the idea for a few days

Upon returning, one dreadwalker was attacking the northern gates. Enemy felled, no casualty. ((However, the fact that non-ashpeople were attacking from the north…))

Informed by Solomon about the situation. Starting to ration. Eating K-brot.

Went to Doctors with Mr. Thorn, need to find chemists. (We have chemists?) Branwen was injured at the north. Regarding “personal project” (i.e., injecting blight to Ambrose), the stuff reported by Dr. Finley only covered the physical aftereffects. Mentally, Ambrose started hearing the whispers, wanted to tear out his own heart, and felt as if his body was amiss.

Antidote was administered with the help of the coven. (So the coven now know this?) ((Gwen doesn’t.)) Administered blight = grinded blighted plants + water. Ambrose has signed approval form.

Leopold is informed of the wraith. Logan (tavern worker) was exercising by climbing a gigantic rock near the walls. A coven girl gave pastry to Tetch; maybe she fancied him? Tetch lagged. :joy: (He had tech issues; had to leave and rejoin the instance.)

Third venture was cancelled by the Lietenant (who was ordered to cancel by one DM) and continued by the Guard Captain (another DM). Management, amirite? :sob: Survey-only though.

As mentioned at POV5 E9, they found fields of wheat, something about a bear, and a raccoon that was holding a book in its mouth. Book’s content is gibberish, and bear is presumed to be Gedna’s Wolf. (Sighting of crow/raven confirmed.)

Dr. Robin suspected Lucien of being a skinwalker. (I.e., Gedna’s Wolf.) Declan, Mr. Thorn, and Dr. Robin doesn’t know the full details though. Conversation was interrupted by the explosion near the coven entrance.

My guess is that its that way because it ends up being the best available compromise for regulating mental health. Men are conditioned from an early age by other men to not cry, and crying can be good because it regulates your mood, it grants you a catharsis. Bottled up emotions can explode, and exploding men are harmful for everybody, so this romanticized stoicism is perhaps a way to add an alternative method to regulate emotions. Plus a lot of men just like it themselves because its associated with ancient greek and roman male marble statues that have attractive male bodies

Therapy / self-help / emotional intelligence and insight should be taught in school

Theres no singular person on this planet that has never had a breakdown, and is exempt from dealing with stress, anxiety, bad stuff

Why gatekeep that important knowledge to therapists, and require kids, or adults, to have to seek others help

Why not teach them themselves on how to deal with it pre-emptively when it will inevitably come

Its like not teaching math, or not teaching how to read and write. Stuff we take for granted. But knowing how to cope with bad stuff isnt taken for granted, its exceptional, coz it’s just not being taught en mssse. And its not like you everyone has a talent for it, everyone can learn it. Not everyone necessarily can apply it but the information is just information, that can simply be shared and memorized

in the us there is ESL. it constitutes goal setting and having conversations with other people about things that make us stressed. starting in preschool up through high school.
albeit the same goal setting lessons for some reason every eyar. and same convo starters. like “bubbles or playground.” even if you are 19.

my experience with school would tell me the parents would do whatever they could to shut this down if it wasnt super neutered. Maybe this is just american things but I can see mass complaints for anything. Like “Why are you telling my kid how to deal with a breakup? You shouldn’t be encouraging my son to be in relationships, he’s too young, what happened to math??”

my finance class. I tried to take an important exam while incredibly sick and managed to get maybe 2/3 of the way through it. I had also misread the due date on a homework assignment so I knew i was cooked and decided to just ball with 12 credits. It has actually been really nice to have the time to write my thing but I need to take breaks or the writing comes out bad, because I’m focused entirely on the dialogue and when I write a ton at once it sounds like gibberish when actually spoken.

Oh yeah absolutely, same here. In a similar fashion, Bulgarian teachers arent allowed to say the words “gay” or “lesbian” in schools

“On 7 August 2024, Bulgaria’s parliament approved an amendment to the education law that prohibits the “propaganda, promotion, or incitement in any way, directly or indirectly, in the education system of ideas and views related to non-traditional sexual orientation and/or gender identity other than the biological one”.”

I got some real fucked catholic school education stuff lol. Like real “you will get aids if you have sex ever” hours. Like I knew it was dumb at the time but looking back some of the stuff I was taught was absolute lunacy lol
