Knights of Guinevere is animated show on the glitch media youtube page thatās created by Dana Terrace (creator of The Owl House and creative on other animated shows such as Gravity Falls). Itās really good would recommend.

Ok so to my understanding, theres a character (girl?) named frankie who gets called franklin and people were like āah, a transgenderā then dana terrace said āno people are just called nicknamesā.
And the main deal is that itās seen as shutting down headcanons as opposed to leaving it open as a possible interpertation, but thereās also a degree to which lack of trans representation even in queer media plays a part. Specifically since this show is indie while previously disney censored a transgender character on another show she worked on.
Theres also side things about other similar situations & a trans woman is playing a man whoās evil?? But sheās cool with it*
It is important to note i havent seen the show and kinda saw the discourse.

As someone who has dodged the discourse like the plague, I really liked the Knights of Guinevere pilot. Really like its character work, its animation and stylization, and the fact that itās so much more than just the ādunk on Disneyā show everyone seemed to be hyped about.
Will also say that John Bailey Owen and Zach Marcus should get significantly more flowers for being co-creators of the show alongside Dana Terrace.

Yeah it mostly seems like people getting angry because of the collective trauma of ācis queer people are strangely transphobic a shockingly high amount of timeā and the situation being vaguely reminiscent of that and its effects, rather than any actual ill will or anything that needs to be Discourseād about
