Had to avoid hypothermia, found farmhouse, entered through basement. Sat on table, faced Death in the form of skeleton. Challenged Death to a game; Death presented (1) Chess, (2) Domino, (3) Dice. Soldier offered “faro”. (Dunno what card game that is.) ((Google says it’s a French banking card game.)) Cheated death and won, but soldier became skeleton whereas skeleton monk / “Death” gained flesh. Speaker was the soldier from 200 years ago. Food is disgusts, can’t sleep, doesn’t seem to age. Hexagonal token made of bone, crumbled to dust.
