Future alien civilizations not knowing galaxies outside their own even exist, and it just being void and dark outside from their PoV makes me a little sad
The acceleration of the expansion of the universe reaching such fast speed that it shreds everything apart, if it doesnât stop accelerating. The big rip theory; google tells me its estimated to be in 20 to 50 billion years, if it were to happen. As opposed to the heat death theory which is estimated to 100 trillion years which is much longer
i love the implication that 1. you know there exists aliens despite a lack of definitive evidence and 2. said aliens wonât know other civilisations exist(ed) because they would lack definitive evidence

Big Rip requires an exotic form of energy with implausible physical properties. Also 20 billion years is an incomprehensibly long time. Youâre worrying about something implausible happening that may take ten times as many years as the sun making the Earth inhabitable from its temperature increasing, and worrying about that is just as futile as worry about something 100 trillion years away. Thereâs too much life to live to concern yourselves with things that will happen on a cosmological time scale.
