No, he’s not innocent. Airplane staff were entirely correct to take that action. I think they did the right thing as well.
I just think it’s gross that people are sharing and watching it like it’s funny or cool to hear about. I think it’s sad that airplane staff have to do that sometimes, I don’t wanna see a picture of it.

I only consume the like ask reddit, tell reddit a story content through channels like Smosh nowadays where it’s fairly curated, and the “dump his ass” crowd generally turns out to be correct. Idk if I could take the raw version of those feeds though. Seems mentally corrosive to be regularly exposed to unfiltered.
Reddit is like. You can create an incorrect worldview through only accurate stories: if you had some kind of filtering method such that only stories which resonate with people’s existing worldview are promoted for you to read, something like, I dunno, the entire infrastructure of the site, you end up spiraling the drain over and over again with a bunch of anecdotes that people process as “happening to somebody they know”.
So if people, say, habitually push up stories about women being abusive and men being victims of abuse, because such stories are important to them and their worldview, you end up with people who’ve heard hundreds of stories about abusive women and start to process them as super common. How could they not? They’ve heard hundreds of first-hand accounts!

The abusive women thing was a notable fixation when I was 13, obviously as a response to the common notion that men can’t be abused by women. They also loved stories about controlling and entitled older women & unreasonable transgender and autistic people who use accusations of bigotry to get their way,
Nowadays you don’t see that as much, it’s more stories about women with comically controlling boyfriends and/or husbands. I don’t keep up well enough to know the smaller trends.
And, like, I usually talk from a point of “even if the stories are true, they can be misleading” because there’s usually no way to prove that a story is for-sure fake… but I’d probably bet money that over half of popular Reddit stories are works of fiction. It’s so frustrating to see people base any percentage of their worldview on that bullshit!

ya there’s countless bots on reddit and they repost controversial stuff for engagement bait. idk whats the end goal for these bots, probably either influence public opinion wrt american politics (since gender is uniquely kinda tied to american political parties) and/or train AI to pass like human via the way they input the thing plus potentially the way they comment

there were dedicated groups to do the “pretend to be an unreasonable woman/minority or make up fake story about unreasonable women/minorities” like all the fucking time and it was really easy to spot them but most people had no idea they existed. For a lot of the big ones I think they were like that

Astroturfing on reddit I believe is fairly well-documented, and nowadays you can finds services for businesses that use LLMs to post on reddit in an attempt to organically recommend your product or business on relevant subreddits. I think there was a recent documented instance of a well-known brand doing this, but it’s also like not hard to believe in the slightest that this sort of thing would and has happened for well over a decade at this point.

Anecdotally, I feel like it’s really common to see this.
Was Googling stuff surrounding job interviews, and basically every thread had at least four accounts providing surface-level advice and then going, “I found this resource really useful,” and providing a helpful link to some Claude website.

f is Liepschitz(?) continuous at x_0 if |f(x) - f(x_0)| <= C \times |x - x_0| for some constant C. This is because it “converges”.
f(x) = x^2 is is Liepschitz continuous but not f(x) = \sqrt{x} (I feel like it should be the other way around, but I’m probably not getting something).
