it does not
Does it take away from the craft though
Smh i think i did the best* i could
i can make you dinner but that doesnât take away from someone making dinner who knows how to
Another related question: say thereâs a guy who wants to make a videogame, has an idea they really want to pursue, but canât draw and doesnât want to learn. They want to do the other creative work, but have no desire to actually hire somebody to do the art, they donât have the money for that. If they automate the process of creating art for the game, does that count as âautomating away creative workâ?
What if itâs a company who could either make one video game with hand-made art or five without?
I mean yeah. There used to be an artisan who got paid to carve chairs all day and now they just mass injection-mold shitty plastic chairs all day
wait your turn
greedy
And you can still make handmade chairs but thereâs much less of a market for them. Very few people can get paid good money for it anymore
I thought we were just having a conversation here!
âŚyes.
itâs a game! have your conversations in hell!
But the process of automation here adds to the amount of âcreative workâ in the world, it doesnât subtract from it. Whatâs the bad part here?
this doesnât really matter if global income exists
Ok but it doesnât
its not creative work
âŚwriting and developing the video game is?
the implication in automaton is that itâll eventually be fine if it does exist
The key point of the premise is somebody who wants to do creative work but canât do part of it. Itâs about partial automation
thatâs not included in the message
just cooperate with someone to make a better whole
