some AI art images look nice enough and there’s even one piece (distinct from the above example - this is an entire drawing not a part of a larger work) that I do quite enjoy

but again the hitrate is just mega mega low and so I think it’s hard to argue that it’s worth the cost on a societal scale

but no, that doesn’t mean every single individual instance is automatically bad

even if I do think just getting a human creator involved is usually better for a whole host of reasons

I thinkfake-tag is special because you winning comes at the cost of. The game. To everyone else.

why is that?

yes that’s why it’s especially chosen!

so you would support the Flash being banned from high school sports

Hmmm I have a similar-ish perspective but a bit farther over than you, I think that it is worth the cost to enable people without any money/organizational skill access to cheap, passable art, even if it’s never gonna be the best. I mean, it absolutely enables more garbage to exist, but I’m okay with enabling to garbage to exist if it allows more people to make games and shit

This is because of aforementioned higher-level position of “I like when there’s more stuff even if it’s not as good”

Does the flash enjoy the effortless victory (doesnt actually change my answer but im curious)

well ive never seen an iteration of the flash that wasn’t above high school age

yes

My issue with this is that I think there’s enough free shit out there to make anything for which being passable is the bar already achievable in most scenarios

The most popular iteration is, like, 24.

And in particular there’s a lot of in-between applications of, like, enabling faster animation (e.g. that Spiderverse movie or whatever) where it just takes away from the deep tedium of producing the huge amounts of art that, like, an animated movie requires

i feel like that doesnt really answer my question

you’re making an assumption and i’m responding with a joke

AI in-betweens feel instinctively like they’re very likely to drastically reduce the quality of the output

no, im asking you :stuck_out_tongue:

fake-tag isn’t the only game in the world so i’d say let the flash run rampant

i’m sure there’s a guy out there who’d always win… plane eating contests, despite thats a thing all people can also theoretically do

I left that one unfinished cause I wanted to think about it more.

Part of it is that there’s stakes for high school sports outside the pure for-fun aspect, because it gets you into college and professional sports, but that’s outside the scope of the idea of the question, I think.

And I guess the rest of it is just… like, if you’re getting into this formally organized competition rather than playing rec-league sports, you’re trying to find out who’s the Best, right? That’s the whole point. If you only cared about getting to play the sport at all, you could just go play rec league. Why ban somebody for being too good?
