Can we just dissolve new york instead?
That seems much simpler.

Really hoping Netflix puts Wake Up Dead Man in a Regal.
As cool as watching it in 35mm would be, itâs also $25.
At least you get it in a theater.
Ok, they caught the guy.
Precinct called and asked if I would be able to identify him from a lineup.

(setting up bait for molly to get distracted by instead of getting the cookie)
holy shit i didnt know they actually did that lol
Well, it was technically not a lineup. More âIâm gonna text you a photo of the guy, and you tell me if itâs the same person.â
Iâm sorry Ash I donât know where I was in this day I didnât see it. Iâm really sorry you had to go through that wtf

Allâs well that ends well.
Itâs genuinely crazy how many convictions are predicated on this sort of thing. People have proven to not actually reliable at identifying people theyâve seen like once ever for not that long. (And also this is a thing that disproportionately harms minorities in the US.) Not saying that you, Ash, are wrong in this instance for what itâs worth. I just worked in a public defenderâs office, and tend to think about legal things from the side of the defendant. The bar should be higher for convictions than specious or circumstantial evidence at best and witness identification when there isnât reasonable grounds for said witness to actually be able to reliably identify the perpetrator.
I havenât kept it up with the news yet, but curiosity here, did all the people arrested during district of colombia protests were acquitted? Especially that sandwhich guy?
sandwich guy was found not guilty
who what huh
Donât worry about it, neonie
wow that sounds like a terrible way to do a line-up! wildly worse than standard* procedure!
* contrary to how fiction sometimes depicts it, youâre not supposed to have one line-up of all the guys you think might be guilty, youâre supposed to have a line-up of 1 suspect and a bunch of non-suspects, and to be allowed to say âit is not any of those people.â obviously this is still a very imperfect system but it beats the thing they do in movies (possibly they also do it in real life occasionally but only if theyâre incompetent)
as opposed to âhey is it this guy specificallyâ which. Joycat
can confirm line ups are not that accurate
