To be clear, it means ā€œ97% of non-autistic people in the study were falsely indicated as autisticā€

(This particular study used only people who were referred for a potential autism diagnosis, hence the much higher rate than the other studies, so this is ā€œ97% of people who might be autisticā€, but surely thatā€™s where the test is, like, relevant. And even in other populations the false positive rate is quite highā€¦)
