Looking up olive oil and ice cream, the first source I looked at specified that it really needs to be high quality extra virgin olive oil, and extra preparation steps like ensuring the ice cream was just out of the freezer and even recommended to chill the bowl. It also specified to use flaky finishing salt for an textural crunch. I suspect that these details were absent in what tutuu watched (or the importance of these details were not communicated properly or tutuu ignored them).
Idk like the chili recipe I uses says to use a 15oz can of red kidney beans, and it’s not apparent that it coming from a can is important. It’s not unusual for someone to fuck up a recipe on their own when they deviated from the recipe in a meaningful way, but when I hear that it was from a YT short, I’m going to assume that it’s a low-effort regurgitated recipe that is based on a recipe that may or may not work, but even if the original does work, things may have been lost when it’s presented in the form of a short. Often times the optimization for a successful short-form video can come at the expense of what’s nominally supposed to be (in this case a food recipe).
