You can actually write off something as a partial business expense, meaning you can partially reclaim VAT based on how often a particular equipment is used for business vs personally
So if I purchase a webcam for my YouTube channel which is now legally a business, and I was to also use it personally I can write off some tax depending on information contained in Partial exemption (VAT Notice 706)
