sina palisa e ale?
The cat wondering why tutuu said heâs going to smoke weed with the principal
pilo kon
Summary
âYou make everything sticklikeâ, or âyou stick everythingâ. You could definitely phrase this more directly given âunpaâ is a word that exists but thatâs my best guess on why theyâre using palisa here
Im gonna squish u
fina pona mama sina
Oh i can sort of see why the translator came around to that
Summary
But you could just say âsina unpa e aleâ which means âyou have sexual or marital relations with everythingâ. So Iâm not sure what the translator is on. I think it goes one-word-to-one-word
I feel like even âsina palisa e aleâ or just âsina palisaâ would imply more âyouâre attractiveâ than anything
I learned toki pona because I wanted to have the experience of being proficient in another language that 1. is easy as hell 2. I donât feel embarrassed about speaking because nobody is a native speaker, and being fluent makes you a massive nerd
Iâd say these goals were achieved but it didnât exactly push me to be better about other langauge learning
Can you really say everything that you want by only using 120 words?
Summary
Oooh i see. Damn i accidently gave you a compliment
Now speak esperanto which is fanfict spanish
You can say most things, but you lose a lot of information and you have to think about how describe things. Thatâs supposed to be the philosophical point of the language â you can try communicating all of the same information you would in a sentence in English, but that would be really unwieldy and require a ton of words. So you have to remove everything nonessential
May how long did it take you to learn it? If its not a lot i might do it for fun too
Like, if you want to say âIâm jealousâ in English, that carries a lot of implications and baggage in just two words, and the person youâre talking to might get something different out of it. In toki pona, you have to decide âwhat the feeling of jealousy means to youâ and describe it, you have to go for the equivalent of âI feel bad because she has something and I donâtâ
A day to be studying-familiar, then I just read a lot of stuff in the Discord server/spoke it with my friends while pulling up a wordlist when I forgot something
Memorising words is obviously a mild chore and my memory is bad but I know most of âem from speaking
Ultimately itâs hard to learn anything without good motivation and if you donât have any motivation to read/write it then you probably donât get anywhere but sina wile la sina ken kama sona
Yeah im reading it right now
May sina ike
