I think Cultic is a bit better on lower difficulties, because you can be a lot more creative about how you initiate fights (because itâs almost always you who initates)
on higher difficulties you mix and match but itâs usually the same strat: pick off enemies with your rifle, then make heavy use of cover and your other weapons (mainly your shotgun or in bigger groups, dynamite) to eliminate your adversaries

Your later weapons are super strong but mostly in the right circumstances, and unfortunately does sometimes kinda just come down to saving it so you can safely kill one of the high hp enemies

Iâd probably enjoy a game with mixed approaches if it was as hard as I wanted it to be

I just. did not enjoy Amid Evil. Your weapons are either super strong and spammable or are awful and nothing feels good to use
Ultrakill is pretty decent but it has a lot of little problems that add up to me not regarding it as a favourite. Largely because of the time-sink requirement to really feel fluid and some weapons not feeling good

I donât enjoy repeating levels or such over and over either. I enjoy doing things once, and coming back to it in a few years if I want to do it again. I already beat Cultic on the hardest difficulty in 2023 but I just wanted to re-experience it
Ultrakill is very clearly a different thing to that which makes it not my thing, and why I donât really enjoy roguelikes either
