It implies especially active. It implies “you’re going out of your way to do this rather than doing it by default”. It is still useful to have words to emphasise a quality even if a certain degree of that quality is presumed by default. Most adverbs are like this, marriage is usually assumed to be happy, but it’s still common to emphasise two people are “happily married”.

It’s 100% possible to have redundant adverbs but this applies to most adverbs. There’s no reason to have disdain for specifically “actively”

In that case people overuse it quite a bit ime. A lot of the time i see it used the claim that something is going out of their way is false imo, its the normal intensity of the verb

The speaker perceives that something is going extra hard and theyre communicating it but i more often than not disagree with the speaker and find their claim exaggerated

Oh another annoying phrase i remembered. Starting your sentence with “As a …”. If i read that i put my guard up on reflex because i know there’s a >rand chance ill feel irritated at what im about to read
