i disagree
i think its fine to an extent but like, esp in the boys, half the time i was like βwhatβ whenever that stuff happened
i also didnt finish the boys tbf
gore is tone dependent in superhero media
I donβt think batman should be turning goons into paste
I think that would contradict the character (lol snyder)
I think the gore works in the boys and invincible
In the boys specifically its like that because the original comic is extremely edgy, there is little substance to it other than just edgyness, so the authors of the show were split between trying to keep it accurate, and trying to inject more substance like story or character development
I think gore is fine in context
Like it elevates the seriousness of scenes
But if you have too much of it then it loses that effect
me thinking the boys season 4 was too on the nose and unrealistic 8 months later
They jumped the shark yeah
(I first wrote dropped the shark)
gore either has to be ever-present so you get used to it to convey tone or so sparsely used to convey tone when it occurs
The boys season 4 is ironically probaby the most accurate to the source material bwahahah
i think gore was prob at his peak in 2000, shame what happened in florida.
the source material is genuinely terrible lol. but it is funny.
TRUE
I fucking hate marvel
i liked only the end of infinity war. I like the gall to kill of half their characters. but of course that didnt actually mean shit bc of endgame
ill ofc agree that they did fall off after endgame
but like everything before that?
actually pretty good
yea endgame moment
and even then theres still quite a few good shows/movies after endgame, just not as many as before
