like ya there are definitely flaws with endgame/infinity war
but like, not more so than a regular marvel movie
and these ones were also just a Lot Cooler imo
huge payoff for knowing the previous films while also not really requiring it, which is hard to do

i dont like time travel retroactively taking away weight from impactful scenes

time travel in a not-explicitly-time-travel-based movie is one of my biggest pet peeves and feels like SUCH a copout

hazbin was just too short. like one of the most interesting episodes was literally

Summary

the v’s plotting together

i dont really understand what u mean by this

and imo the idea of time travel was set up like, very well. i think the worst aspect of the entire plotline is “how come a rat is the thing that undoes this”

like (to me) itd make sense that, after the snap, cars that are like permanently unattended and their owner seems to have been snapped would probably be taken and sold off again, and i think a scene of a family like celebrating their new van and then a kid opens the back and lets paul rudd out would’ve been a lot funnier (and like, also make more sense)

the snap working and killing everyone was subversive, cool as hell, and the culmination of like all of the movies. time-travel undoing all of it is just. i dont think very good. i would have preferred everyone stayed dead

i don’t think a kids movie can ever really have stakes like that

ok but
this wasn’t going to happen
we knew this wasn’t going to happen
it literally could not happen

i remember leaving the theater after infinity war and me and my family were trying to figure out how they get everyone back, bc they aren’t just gonna kill everyone and have them stay dead. we knew thered be more spiderman movies
i agree that from a storytelling perspective it probably wouldve been cooler, but like theres 0 way that that would ever happen. i think trying to analyze every marvel movie from purely a storytelling/thematic perspective will just lead to dissapointment, bc while some have really cool themes and stories, the main selling point of the film and the reason people watch it is bc of the action, the superheroes, and the stories specifically surronding the superheroes they like

which is why i think most marvel films are disappointing

the tv shows are where you get a lot more storytelling imo. falcon and the winter soldier is like, super good in that aspect. Same with Loki. I would list more but i have not seen that many lmao (what if is fine~)

my toxic trait is i like marvel movies and i will stand by them through thick and thin (except specific ones)

i mean I can appreciate the action but the storytelling basically never does it for me

thats fair

I need them to be going somewhere with their stories.
That’s basically my only criteria.
