It’s not really an american issue. Internship issues are universal.

I had my fair share of shady internships as well. Once I wasn’t even reported, and school “didn’t let me go” for next year, cuz I “haven’t met the requirements”. I couldn’t prove I was working during the summer. It was a total mess. The best thing, the school only informed me after a few months in the semester already. (when you literaly can’t just admit to any other school…) and I was going to school and everything until that point…

That was the first time I dropped out of school.

Okay… aside from the thing you mentioned at the beginning (about how you determined the black kropki at the bottom row of column 4 to be 48 and not 36), all but one thing sounds reasonable.

The one thing I couldn’t follow is:

[6] is not R4C6 because there’d be no room for [123] in Column 5 otherwise, but why can’t [6] be in R4C4 or R6C6?

Explanation with Phistomefel

Phistomefel’s Ring Theorem: Everything in the four boxes at the corners are the exact same set of numbers as the ring in the middle.

The inner ring contains [6789] and three numbers which makes them up. For 6 it is [123], and for 7 it is [124]. However, for 8 it could be either [125] or [134], whereas there are three options for 9; [126], [135], or [234].

You already explained how the four kropki dots on C1 and C2 were all unique; [1248] and [2436]. The second set contains no [1] in it. If the 9 had a [1] in it, then all corner squares would have a [1] in it as well. Since such is not the case, 9 must be composed of [234].

That leaves us with the composition of 8.
For now, let’s review our sets.

Inner ring: [6123,7124,81??,9234]
Corner squares: [1248,2346,1???,1???]

Let’s remove some numbers we already know. (Primarily the numbers from the left corner squares.)

Inner ring: [123,7,1??,9]
Corner squares: [1???,1???]

So, the right corner squares contain two ones. Coincidentally, they also contain two black kropki dots. The inner ring’s question marks are either 25 or 34 (because that’s how you make 8).

Now, what two black kropki pairs could you make with the remaining sets of numbers?

If you choose 34, then you can make one pair of 24 or 12, but it wouldn’t be enough to make two pairs. So the composition of 8 on the inner ring is not [134], but [125], and the two black kropki pairs on the corners of C8 and C9 are both [12]s.

(With this method, you also know that [R1C8, R2C8, R9C8,R9C9] is composed of [3579].)

Back to R8C4-R9C4 black kropki dots: If you look at Row 9, you can see that putting a 6 would break the black kropki dots at the bottom of C8. This is why it has to be 8 instead.

@O.kazo

Here’s the formal proof for the issue you mentioned at the start of your explanation.

Afterwards B7R9 has to be 134 as you explained before, and combined with my explanation, the bottom left square contains [1248], meaning that R9C3 is [3].

R3C3 can’t be 8 because -you already explained this- and it can neither be 6 or 9 because of the aforementioned placed [3]. So it is a 7.

I already explained why R4C6 can’t be 6, and as for why 6 has to be in R6C4: Because 9 is composed of [234] and R8C4 has a [4].

((The issue is not that I think you’re wrong -we obviously both cleared it- but rather that I want to see the formal proof as to why we are correct.))
