Okay, to expand on this now that you are here. Most data is transmitted between 1 and 0’s, so the ultimate goal is to transmit 0 and 1. You can transmit 1 and 0’s through electrical pulses, but you quickly run into a problem when going long distances. The device that is getting the signal must be able to recognize that it is a 1 or a 0. If it cannot properly recognize it, then it may assume incorrectly the number. Noise can alter the signal, causing incorrect information to be transmitted. You need to be able to send it through a medium in whcih noize affecting it isn’t that big of a deal.
Hence, you take a sinwave and mess with it to encode the info

I sure love having to go from the first floor to the third floor and then to a part of the second floor on the exact opposite side of the building, just to then be sent BACK to the first floor at an area that’s still pretty damn far, just to not even be able to turn in my assignment because the teacher isn’t even there.
