sometimes when i try to sign up for things they automatically mark me as a business and i have to jump through several hoops to say that iām an individual for no reason

its mostly important for applying for any new credit cards or the like so if you want to only start carrying a balance when you know youāll be applying for one you could probably make that work
but at the end of the day your credit score is based on an algorithm with no memory of past utilization, but credit card companies can calculate literally whatever they want when determining whether or not to reject an application and having 0% utilization historically may be a difference-maker in some scenarios
