S tier
- Trans flag: aesthetically very pretty, very distinct colours (not used on other pride flags or flags in general, they don’t even have to be that order to be recognizable, if you make something pastel blue/pink/white people will go Trans Gender)
- Rainbow flag: super recognizable, good symbolism, this version has good colors which aren’t too disparate in value (which is the thing that can make it ugly)
- Genderqueer flag: not as mainstream but GREAT symbolism and uniqueness, it does “more niche pride flag” well, since the lavender and yellowish-green symbolize “non-normative gender” well and are not used on other pride flags
- Lesbian flag: pretty, again has fairly unique colours you can see outside the context of a flag and recognize, and good symbolism
A tier
- Asexual flag: simple, recognizable, pretty good symbolism for the concept of asexuality, no design uglinesses (White And Purple Is Fine)
- Nonbinary flag: great symbolism (yellow = third gender, white = all gender, purple = mix of male and female, black = none gender), the purple/yellow combo is distinct, some people say it’s ugly but I don’t think it is…
- Gay male flag: similar to the lesbian flag but the colours aren’t as distinct, you don’t see green and blue and go “gay guy colours” the way orange and pink can be “lesbian colours”
- Intersex flag: I generally dislike Weird Symbols on pride flags but the intersex flag is 1. simple and aesthetically pleasing and 2. communicates that being intersex is kind of a different sort of deal than the rest of the Genders and Sexualities – I don’t like intersex replacement flag proposals that make it look like another gender/sexuality flag
- Pansexual flag: Decent symbolism, again I like the more unique pinks and blues not normally seen on other pride flags
B tier
- Agender flag: The symbolism is fine but there’s so many stripes and I confuse it with aromantic/other nonbinary flags all the time, it simply is not Unique enough
- Aromantic flag: Same deal, not unique enough, easily confused with agender, I always expect it to match with asexual and it doesn’t.
- Polysexual flag: It’s like the pansexual flag but the symbolism is less distinct.
- Bisexual flag: Great in theory but the purple is SO UGLY that it goes down several tiers; also the ratios are weird
C tier
- Philadelphia pride flag: Aesthetically I Do Not Like the addition of black and brown because the values are totally different and the brown looks bad next to red. Sorry chat
- 7-stripe pride flag: The values are all over the place…
- Genderfluid flag: Look the symbolism is fine but the colors are just ugly next to each other, it jumps from middle to light to middle to dark to middle and they don’t look good together and it’s not immediately obvious what it is.
- Omnisexual flag: I don’t like the dark blue. And it doesn’t have great distinct symbolism. And it doesn’t have any symbolic representation of nonbinary people which is kind of a whole conceit of the label like otherwise you’d just call yourself bi
D tier
- Demigender flag: The yellow looks bad next to the grey. And it has too many stripes. And the symbolism isn’t great.
- Progress pride flag: Too much STUFF too many weird SHAPES
- Bigender flag: Look I specifically used the label bigender for a while but never used this flag because it is not very good it has too many stripes it is too muddy and it is not distinct
- Genderflux flag: Pink and grey look bad next to each other, not distinct
F tier
- Ally flag: Too much garbage going on! Visually messy! Gives me a headache!
- Demisexual flag: I dont like the triangle or the thin stripe or hte black next to purple. Very BAD aesthetically
- Straight flag: Gives me a headache
- Polyamorous flag: Also gives me a headache. I like polyamory having a slightly different flag from generic-genders-and-sexualities because again it’s a distinct thing but the pi is kind of the worst of both worlds. Nobody sees blue/red/black/yellow and goes “wow poly colours”
i identify with polyamoru but i don’t want this ugly ass pi flag whats next give me intergral square root sinus cosinus flag
