While that might be unfortunate, it shouldn’t be overly humiliating; and permitting others to answer your own phone calls demonstrates a more silly demeanour than anything else, rather than a desire to belittle others. It’s just a reason to prevent needless phone calls in-class.
I mean there’s edge cases where if there’s no out it sucks and is cruel. If a call about a death in the family comes up that’s genuinely something somebody doesn’t wanna hear it. But 1. it can be prevented altogether by keeping your phone on silent and 2. provided he does in fact make exceptions for justified situations then at some point it’s your responsibility to go “no seriously this is extremely personal” and take the call outside
