About the Rules & Moderation category (Part 1)

what are the stock clues about this that can get me quizbowl points

apparently the main answerline to that number of arguments bonus part is arity. cs terms are not real

arity is SO real
(it is a very rarely used term though in my experience)

I hear it like once every many months

hence description acceptable…

benguined do you know what a literal is

are literals a term that you don’t have to know because the term overlaps too much with a normal word

Literal used to be a scary cs term to me (now it’s a normal :relieved: term)

i wouldn’t be surprised if it came up but cs questions don’t come up very often (they’re one possibility for other science, which comprises one tossup and bonus per packet and is shared with math, astronomy, and other categories i can’t remember right now) and our team is like. hilariously bad at cs

one gripe about the set i played last weekend is that i heard like three math questions total and one of them was a bonus that went to the other team (who incidentally had a math phd student)

is 3 a lot

(I’m assuming from context no)

the other set i’ve played this year had one math question per packet and i was eating good. it’s not cleared for discussion yet though

BAD JOKE INSIDE

I don’t think that changes the taste

i heard uh. counting tossups and bonuses both, 400 questions. 440 if you count the game we spectated during our bye round

Hazard swears like a sailor— nay, an Australian so I don’t need to.

saxton hale doesn’t swear nearly as much as you’d think he would so i’ve gotta assume thats a hazard isolated incident
