The friends I spend the most time with - collar person, the one whose birthday it was who likes me a lot, lawyer guy, they’re not very academically-oriented. It’s kind of awkward
They were mentioning oh yeah lol I have a 1.8 GPA and they had seen me ingest enough alcohol for me to have an excuse to say “oh yeah I have a 3.8”
Some of it’s not caring, some of it’s not being as smart, some of it’s… lawyer guy also has disability and apparently gets concussions regularly. But I value academics a lot. And I want to spend time with people who value the same things that I do.
I recognise that there’s more to life than academics and I am not objectively better than the people I surpass at school but I also value school a lot and want to spend time with people who have similar interests, in the same way people who like sports a lot like hanging out with other sports fans. Is what I’m telling myself to sound less elitist
