A whisp of smoke fills the room. The projector begins running a countdown.

“Life is filled with the unexpected, and the unknown. What will be known, what shall be known, and what must be? Find out in our upcoming special!"

Perjury.

Arius can see a regal-esq hallway going both directions, filled with long wooden doors at various corners. Some portraits of very old looking men fill the walls, likely either… founders or judges. Of the courthouse. Of which you’re in.

Arius looks at the portraits. He doesn’t recongize any faces, but some are holding gavels and odd looking clothing, black with a white hem on their necks. Judges, assuredly.

Arius finds that they’re nearly impossible to take off the wall, but one gives way. On investigation of it’s backside, it reads ‘Judge Jonah Frost, served 1895-1932.’

Arius places the portrait back, and goes down the left hallway. More doors reading similar phrases of ‘COURTHOUSE’ and then another, before arriving.

One door at the far side is wide open, and might be allowed for the public.

Arius peers through the door, seeing what you may of expected: court is in-session, and given you haven’t been immediately spotted and cast out, it seems to be open to the public. Thankfully, for your legal record.

Arius rapidly shakes his head, and goes through the right side of the hallway.

There’s nothing of interest.

Someone taps on his shoulder.

Arius turns around to get a look at the shoulder tapper.

He sees a deeply nervous Bailiff, stammering out a question. “Def… Defen… Defense… Defense…”

“…We need… a… lawyer. No experience… required.” They finish.

Arius took a deep breath to calm himself down.

“I see where this is going,” he muttered. “Very well. Please lead me to the courtroom.”

They start to try to speak a thanks, before giving up and choosing to drag you into the courtroom.

They point at your stand, where a man is fast asleep in a wheelchair, and makes a ‘go’ gesture.

“The defense would like to inquire information regarding the current case.”
