There are many situations in which it is impossinle NOT to refer to host communications, e.g. moderrors, clarifications about roles, etc. I think referring to communications should be minimized but an outright ban is too inflexible IMO

Blanket allowing everything can lead to bad situations where people are clearly angleshot town to those more familiar with how to angleshoot, even if nobody had bad intentions, host included. People pretty much never have bad intentions, it’s almost always accidents

Asking hosts to be knowledgable of which types of communications they should veto from being referenced would reduce those situations, but it sounds difficult and bothersome to require of hosts. Plus it can be subjective

Perhaps a good solution could be to blanket disallow everything by default, and allow hosts to manually override, if the situation calls for it - talking about mod errors, compensations, etc. I think when people consciously think about what might and what might not be angleshooty, is when it is better prevented, and when they don’t consciously think is when slip-ups happen. And they would be caught be a safety net of “blanket disallow unless explicitly allow”
