This is probably the one thing that makes me intrigued by your tierlist of reads.

Overall, you have Leafia in your lowest tier, me the tier above it and then jarek and chomps (The next lowest posters) slightly higher and higher again. What is it about post counts that you find ā€˜inherently scummy’ / ā€˜inherently trustworthy’?

Some people naturally post more than others, there’s nobody here who I know for being a very high poster tbh. I’m trying to make sure I’m always keeping up on things but I’m also a player who sometimes mulls things over in my mind rather than posting all of my thoughts because otherwise they’d be a weird and probably contradicting paragraph of ā€˜fluff’.

Sheeping someone who you have low on your list is an interesting play, plus gummy overall actually has a decently high amount of posts (though not necessarily very substantive ones) so are you caring more about the substance of the posts regarding gummy? Or are you still purely looking at the post count? (To where Gummy is in the top half of players)

I also find an inherent bias which leads me to interact with those I already know, but I’ve been trying to interact a good bit with someone I don’t know too much - albeit recognising I may or may not also be tunnelled at the same time

I don’t think there is anything inherently towny/scummy about posting more/less, but I do recognize that I’m very biased by it. I think it’s partially like recency bias? I tend to favor whoever spoke most recently

I don’t actively like look at the post counts, it’s more like a subconscious influence I’m more conscious of now

more unnecessary details behind my mindset that I’ve thought too much about:

  • I usually read everyone’s posts with the assumption they are town. I am not very good at social reads that go like ā€œthis comes from a town/wolf mindsetā€ although I’ve been trying to consider those more. but I don’t know how other people think, and it’s hard for me to claim that someone would definitely think a certain way
  • I like knowing how/why other people think, but I don’t think very hard about the analytics, it’s more curiosity
  • I’m not good at suspecting people, so what I usually end up is a list of people with varying amounts of towniness, and then I take the bottom tier or two
  • people who are more active in the thread get more townread by me because I like talking to people and if I’ve talked to them more, I’m more predisposed to think positively of them. I also just feel more bad voting someone who talks a lot/felt like they were very involved
  • somewhat trying to account for this bias, I try to focus on specific posts/interactions from lower posting players that feel too weird to come from mafia. this is not that effective since I’m starting to think it’s more player-specific than alignment-specific
  • thought-out posts like yours/jarek’s feel very good, but I’m also automatically warier because more thought/calculation goes into them, and I can’t tell how…sincere? they really are
  • probably could go into more rambling but I also have to leave so just ask followup questions if you have

and yes, I’m starting to realize we play very differently. I like your playstyle for what it’s worth, the general ā€œpost less fluff and more coherent thoughts/conclusionsā€ is something I keep wanting to do, but then a game starts, and I automatically fall back into spamming mode. I think I play more for the social interaction and less for the social deduction (sorry), and how I play is pretty flawed

sheeping gummy (and/or whoever is loud) is a bit of a holdover from qbcord. she usually has a better direction/confidence in pushing specific people, and I generally trust her reads over mine. if she’s evil, I’ll worry about it in the future

also appreciate you reaching out, it’s cool to talk to someone new, but I’m bad at initiating

Do you know me

I’ve played with you a bunch so at least there’s that familiarity perhaps is the right word to use here, between ourselves.

I’ll take it

I think that was a productive conversation

indicated by the fact the game is going nowhere

if neighborhood has anticlaim immunity, I would assume it’s because there’s a wolf in there because it makes more mechanical ā€œsenseā€ to give the neighbors protection from being anticlaimed if they claimed within the neighborhood

but is that the type of [making alignment assumptions off role] assumption that zone would actively punish by subverting?

not saying here that dia having such immunity means it’s a towncoded role or anything

two wolves and a neutral would be incredibly funny actually but probably too odd

i can guarantee you this is not the case

The anti-claim immunity part is probably part of the bait to subvert expectations to be honest. Purely speculation though and taken with so many grains of salt that you’re in the red sea.

As for what it means for the game I have no idea. I’d say…well again with the massive grain of salt speculation; that the immunity to anti-claim is because there’s a wolf in the hood chat - it’d be…well a bit silly, if someones role was instantly anti-claimable to the wolf in that chat because they knew their role from being in the chat.

That, or it was expected that the hood chat would be much likelier to full claim and to provide incentive to do that they made the chat un-anti-claimable or something. Still means a wolf is probably in it to make that not just free claims.
