It’s always hard to start
The internal motivation in theory that you need for it is Novelty, Empowerment or/and Curiosity
Novelty is that you are trying new things that arouse your curiosity from it.
Empowerment is that you willingly choose to maybe do one extra push-up, feeling content and proud of yourself that you managed to do a hard workout and you feel you can always do it, no matter what.
Curiosity is inherently experimentation, what if you use grippers this way? What if instead of sit-ups you do pull-ups from an iron bar? “How will those weights make me fell?”
Emotions are inherently external motivators in theory, because they easily fade away and alongside it your will to continue your lifestyle. Whenever you workout because you are embarrased of your body, lovestruck, encouraged… as soon as the feeling goes away your will to get started again will also disappear if that’s your only sole motivator.
Internal motivators are those that persist while external motivators are those that fade easily.
Feeling proud of yourself and accomplishments inside the brain chemistry are apparently different than the location the other emotions are processed. Which gives it a big difference.
