Just one simple lunatic-Legion in a non-Legion game is concerning for me. (With the addition of the Atheist.)
If you suspect youâre the Lunatic in a Legion game, I would recommend baiting your âfellowâ Legion into believing you thought you were another Demon. Claim Vortox with someone as your Minion, and theyâll either need to follow your claim or admit they arenât your Minion. A real Legion knows for certain who their teammates are.
Legion and Atheist are often paired because their games can end up looking similar from a mechanical viewpoint.

Without an Atheist itâs easy to figure that out, but put the Atheist in, and it is no longer mechanical solve, but reading the STsâ whim.

If youâre shown the Legion token and go to multiple teammates and they all turn you away, you are the Lunatic. So whatâs scary about it?
If only one evil player plays along. (Usually the spy) you canât determine if itâs a legit game or an Atheist game. And if the St feels extremely sarcastic, they would put a Drunk/Marionette Atheist in to confuse the people even moreâŚ

In the scenario where a Lunatic Legion has been seen by the Spy in a normal game and they play along, itâs still inevitable that at least one good player will decline being Legion to the Lunatic. This is due to the fact that in a real Legion game, they would outnumber good, and so there arenât enough evils for the Lunatic to miss out on falsely seeing good.
So in this case, the Lunatic would know they are the Lunatic, and the gameplay difference is either a) multiple other Lunatics in an Atheist game, or b) you know confirmed evils, even if the Atheist is drunk. I think itâs pretty much the same thing as an evil bluffing Atheist in regards to mech, so it isnât really scary in longform.

There was a video on the BOTC channel where the evil team played along bluffing Legion to propose an Atheist world. The Spy received a lot more information than they normally would to make that work, though.

Given evil has blundered every legion game Iâve played and STâd thatâs not a bright side

The resulting legion game was reracked because the ST let too many travelers in

Hilariously, the mathematician found out it was legion through numerous correct 0âsâŚ

20 BoTFs with no Legion? It wouldnât be a bad idea to make this the 1st time Legion is run on FoL.
