Does the host care whether or not you break madness by a joke if it isn’t obvious to the entire game? Also, you had to have known the pithag couldn’t exist d1 if you were mad
He wasn’t mad D1.
I doubt the host would care. Breaking madness is breaking madness.
Heading out for now but I’ll be back later once things pick up a bit.
Yeah my problem with reading the previous posts of Jarek is it seems like that mid way through the day a switch got turned on where he decided to act like he was mad, while his earlier posts show no indication of this. With that being said, I liked his explanation that he got yelled at by the story teller, but he claimed earlier that the safest thing to do is to claim to be the role you are, yet never actually did that unless I missed it except in whispers.
the role you need to claim to satsify madness*
Clarifications about how I run madness:
Madness relies about making a sincere effort to convince the group or to convince a majority of other players that a specific thing is true.
A player is made mad by the Cerenovus that they are the Clockmaker. They claim Clockmaker all day in whispers, then publicly respond to a rolefishing player with “I’m one of No Dashii/Vortox/Vigormortis.” They are not considered to have broken madness.
A player is made mad by the Cerenovus that they are the Dreamer. They claim Dreamer in 3 for 3s, and hardclaim it to one or two players. People are suspicious of them since they were claiming to be the Mathematician yesterday. They say “I’ll prove I’m not Cerenovus mad to you. I’m the Flowergirl.” They are not considered to have broken madness.
A player is made mad by the Cerenovus on the first night that they are the Mutant. The publicly claim to be the Mutant and are immediately executed because they have otherwise just proven to the entire group that they are not the Mutant.
how do you fake being a mutant if you can’t claim it
If a Cerenovus makes a player mad about being the Mutant, I will be far more lenient about what constitutes “madness” as opposed to other roles.
okay but
i’m assuming a player has to act somewhat differently in order to fake being a mutant
how would you go about that in a way that doesn’t out that you aren’t mutant? is your goal just to convince people you aren’t mutant?
It works better in voice chat when you’re just spamming the role you are over and over again but I don’t particularly think it’d be believable or interesting if I typed “I’m seamstress btw” over and over again and the risk of getting CC’d and pressured by people who have no clue what the cerenovus does is way too high.
Like amelia literally nominating me because of it, for example.
okay that makes sense
Normally, this is solved because players aren’t perfect about being mad, and Mutants have some tells that Townsfolk do not (such as not having a Townsfolk role that they know nobody else has, having to make up results on the fly, etc.)
But with very experienced groups, you are correct that making somebody mad about being the Mutant is typically significantly less useful than making someone mad about being other roles.
Basically, if you’re playing with a group at the skill level where Mutants are practically indistinguishable from Townsfolk without evaluating over extended periods of time to check their information, making someone mad about being the Mutant for a day is effectively useless.
so is aelin actually seamstress this kind of implied they werent
They claimed a seamstress ability usage on 2 people I forget who
this still makes me laugh leafia
jarek probably scum the more i think about his actions regarding the leafia whisper but i’m not actually confident enough to try to bulldoze through half the game to prove it
Shitposting > Being useful
who do you think is the demon rn
